Early on in the year a customer arrived at the workshop for his annual service, on the list of defects he asked LAS to look at was the passenger side panel below the window as the paint had blistered in several places.
On closer examination, they weren’t blisters but holes, what had happened was the window above the panel had been incorrectly fitted in the manufacture, and over a few months had started to let water through to the wooden panels under the aluminium outer skin.
Both the wooden panel and the aluminium skin had to be removed and a new panel fabricated, then installed in its place. As you can see from the lower picture a join had to be added avoiding replacing the entire panel which extended beyond the entrance door.
The paint was matched and the bare panel painted.
